Pitch

In the near future, a young vigilante named Anderson finds himself living in a futuristic dystopia. After a noticeable rise in crime, Anderson theorises that the government is attempting to eradicate social groups they consider to be undesirable. Anderson travels to an area of the city that is renowned for homelessness in an attempt to find more information.

Initially, Anderson is fearful of helping the city’s homeless population as he believes that he would be persecuted by the government. However, Anderson meets Alec, a homeless man who lives on the streets, who agrees with Anderson’s theory and urges him to change his mind. Eventually, Anderson is persuaded to help and starts his investigation into the government's activities by searching crime scenes.

Anderson becomes increasingly involved in anti-government movements and he starts to vandalise government propaganda. Unfortunately, Anderson is arrested by the government after he is caught tearing down a propaganda poster. At this point, the narrative is interspersed with Anderson’s flashbacks that focus on his mother.

Eventually, Anderson is offered a meeting with the head of the government, who is simply known as the Leader. Sympathetic to Anderson’s plight, the Leader admits that the government have been eradicating those they consider to be social undesirables. The Leader explains how the government have been forced to take drastic measures to combat the issues of a rising population. During the meeting, Anderson steals the government’s plans for the undesirables. Unaware that the plans have been stolen, the Leader allows Anderson to leave unharmed as he believes that the population will neither believe nor care for conspiracies against the government.

Although Anderson realises that the eradication of the homeless may benefit the wider society, he becomes unwilling to compromise when the government threaten to eradicate more people if he does not return their stolen plans. Content with the knowledge that the government is simply a masquerade for the Leader’s tyrannical dictatorship, Anderson starts to work on strengthening the resistance movement against the Leader.

  1. An interesting narrative with postmodern elements that will provide great opportunities for creative editing.
